Alicia Machado was born Yoseph Alicia Machado in Maracay Venezuela in the month of December 6th, 1976. Alicia has a mixed background. His father is Spanish and her mother was Cuban. Through her entire life she's left an important mark on the beauty industry through shows, television, and film. Alicia Machado rose to fame in the year she was named Miss Venezuela at age 19 representing Yaracuy. It was her crowning achievement one following year when she won the Miss Universe 1996 title, the fourth Venezuelan to win the coveted title. However, her reign in the role of Miss Universe was marred by criticism and media scrutiny because she gained weight throughout her time as Miss Universe. Donald Trump, who owned the Miss Universe Organization at the time, slammed her publicly regarding her weight gain saying she was "Miss Piggy" and requiring her to exercise during the media spotlight.
